These sites are quite helpful because it gives a quick summary of each chapter and things that were important to know as well as the meanings of names. Here are some questions you can ask yourself while reading these sites.
1. In book 1, who is the innovation for the poet telling the story?
2. In book 2, who is in charge of Ithaca at the time of Odysseus's dismissal from home?
3. Where does Telemachus visit in books 3 and 4 and why?
4. What is the current situation of Odysseus in Book 5?
5. In Books 6-8, who does Odysseus receive hospilitity from and what do they do for him?
6. Why is Book 9 through Book 13 such an important chapters for the whole poem?
7. What happens during Book 21 that has Odysseus show his true identity?
8. Book 23 is considered the true conclusion to the Odyssey, however it does not end and Book 24 describes the end of the journey for Odysseus. What events happen during this book?
9. From the start of the book, how many days really pass (without recounting Odysseus past experiences) to the end of the book?
10. Describe the array of thematic moods that take place all throughout the Odyssey.
